For All You Lottery Dreamers Out There.....

I Had a Brain That Felt Like Pancake Batter.....

After Mulling It Over All Day.....

It just hit me. I don't like you because I don't approve of you. And you know what? I don't have to do either. My head and heart are not CNN and are not required to be politically correct or to like everybody. Why didn't I figure this out years ago??? Sweet Jebus I feel liberated.......

Tonight!

Saturday: Just Kickin' It

Peggy: My Favorite "Mad" Lady

I am a late-comer to AMC's Mad Men and have had to do most of my catching up on Sunday mornings, but it has been so worth it! I am so psyched for this weekend's premiere, and if I didn't have to get up so early the next morning, would probably be one of those nerds having a 60's style party to celebrate. There's so many things to like about this show......it's so cleverly written, the characters are so complex, the fashions and iconography of the time are so well-captured......it's simply the complete package. There is very little on television today that doesn't dumb down to an even dumber audience. AMC never stoops to doing that with its viewers and clearly it has paid off with the loyalty of Mad Men fans. So before I get down to my serious countdown to premiere I must give my quick shout-out to Peggy, my favorite rising star of 1960's advertising. She's quick. She's cute. She's smart. She knows how to pick up the dropped bal...

Weekend Finally!

Global Warming, Global Shwarming!

Warm enough to wear summer shoes in March? Count me in!!!!!

I Have Become Rob, Dick & Barry

"How can it be bullshit to state an opinion?" John Cusack as Rob Gordon in High Fidelity "He offended me with his horrible taste!" An exasperated Jack Black as Barry in High Fidelity when a middle-aged man dares to ask him for "I Just Called to Say I Love You" by Stevie Wonder "It's the new Belle & Sebastion....do you like it?" Todd Louiso as Dick......just being Dick in High Fidelity One has to endure to some really shitty music in order to listen to Bob and Sheri in the morning. And you must know how much I LOVE Bob and Sheri to put up with hearing crap like this in between their bits. I give you It Will Rain by Bruno Mars. If you ever leave me, baby, Leave some morphine at my door Cause it would take a whole lot of medication To realize what we used to have, We don't have it anymore. There's no religion that could save me No matter how long my knees are on the floor, oh So keep in mind all the sacrifices I'm mak...

Guilty Pleasure Music

Now that I'm listening to a lot more terrestrial radio, I am coming across these forgotten gems of pop music past. Anybody that knows me or knows this blog know that I'm pretty specific about what I like and don't like. Chris Daughtry? No. Madonna? Not so much. Pink Floyd? Yes. Wilco? Yes, please. But sometimes there are these crap shoots. Like......P!nk. I do kinda like her. And Lady Gaga. It's shocking, but I like her too. I don't like hardly any kind of current pop like LMFAO. And Nickelback. If you don't know that one, you haven't been paying attention. But every now and then, I do enjoy these oldies from the past. I just like them.....for no good reason. I think it's partly that very 80's sounding synthy vibe. Or maybe it's the fashions. Or maybe it just takes me back to my childhood. No matter what....I can't help but crank it in my cute little car. And then I started realizing that I was embarrassed and would be...

Girl Snark, Girl Advice, and Girl Celebration

Jen Lancaster is a great writer and I own everything she has written. However, I tend to have a love/hate relationship with her because I think she's extremely judgmental and elitist, but I think she and her fans know that already. (She has, what E-Roc likes to call "white people problems" but that is a story for another time.) So since she moved up my shit list a while back for a blog I thought was out of line, I dropped her from my blog roll and "unliked" her page on FB. Nonetheless, I still drop by her blog from time to time as I do other snarky bloggers that I once knew. (Funny thing is, Jen and that snarky writer have quite a lot in common. Heh. I will need to process how I choose and which women I choose to look up to and friend at a later date.......) But I did run across something yesterday on Jen's blog that I wanted to write on myself from Chick Lit is Not Dead called "5 Things I'd Tell Teen Me". I haven't done any listin...
